Sizing & Colours

 

Ratty Tat Hat sizes are taken from the inner headband and are listed in each Ready to Wear hat description within the Shop. We would suggest using a dressmaker’s tape measure to ascertain the head circumference of wearer (measurement to be taken from above eyebrows and around widest part of head). Ratty Tat Hats are made from heavy wool and therefore quite rigid so measurements need to be accurate in order to provide a comfortable fit.

 

There is a choice of colour options available which varies depending on size and hat type required.

 

Hat Construction

 

Each hat is new, handmade from heavy 100% wool and is finished with a satin lining resulting in a beautiful heirloom quality accessory. The embellishment of each unique hat varies but will normally include vintage watch parts and curios and often tarnished copper. Therefore there are imperfections and wear to some of the decoration giving the hat its vintage appearance.

 

We try to accurately describe, photograph and inform you of all these details so you are completely happy before committing to buy. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images of the hats but cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any colour will be accurate. Should you have specific questions or require further information please contact us.

 

 

Care &Maintenance

 

Please sponge clean only and dry completely at room temperature before storing. A lint roller or small clothes brush can be used to keep hats looking their best.

 

An umbrella or parasol may be a good addition to your ensemble to spare your Ratty Tat Hat from a shower of rain.

Ordering

 

Ready to Wear Hat Orders

 

Before ordering please check that the hat will be a good fit for the wearer. Ratty Tat Hat sizes are taken from the inner headband and are listed in each Ready to Wear hat description within the Shop. We would suggest using a dressmaker’s tape measure to ascertain the head circumference of wearer (measurement to be taken from above eyebrows and around widest part of head). Ratty Tat Hats are made from heavy wool and therefore quite rigid so measurements need to be accurate in order to provide a comfortable fit.

 

Upon receiving your order we will send confirmation of order acceptance to the email address you have provided. We retain the right to refuse any order. In this unlikely event of this, any payment made will be refunded via your method of payment and no further liability will be accepted by us.

 

Tailor Made Hat Orders

 

The majority of my creations are Tailor Made hats. Please contact us to initiate your bespoke hat order.

To proceed with an order we will require the head circumference of wearer (measurement to be taken from above eyebrows and around widest part of head). Ratty Tat Hats are made from heavy wool and therefore quite rigid so measurements need to be accurate in order to provide a comfortable fit.

 

A Tailor Made hat will generally take 5 to 6 weeks to complete. Costs and dates for completion and postage will be agreed at time of order.

 

Payment

 

We use PayPal for protected and secure payments by credit card and PayPal account. The online checkout will take you through a simple, secure process, where you also agree to our terms and conditions.

 

Delivery

 

UK & Ireland delivery  

 

Ready to Wear hats will normally be delivered within 3 working days of order (excluding public holidays). If a delay is likely we will endeavour to advise you. Your package will require a signature upon delivery.

 

Delivery to most European destinations, USA and Canada £70.00

 

International delivery is available where quoted and is an express, signed for service. Deliveries outside of these areas can usually be arranged and customers are welcome to contact us for cost and duration before placing an order. The buyer will be responsible for any customs and/or handling fees that may apply to their state/country.

 

Returns & Refunds

 

We hope that you love your Ratty Tat Hat and are completely happy with your purchase. If, however, you are not entirely satisfied please contact us within 48 hours of your delivery. Should you wish to return a Ready to Wear hat for a refund you have 14 calendar days from receipt of delivery which to do so.

 

A hat returned for refund must be in the original condition, unworn, undamaged and packed appropriately. You have a duty of care for the products during the cancellation period. We advise that you return items with suitable cover against loss in transit and proof of the return should be obtained by the customer. The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the item for refund. Your payment will be refunded as soon as we receive the returned hat.

 

Refused or undelivered hats will be refunded upon their return to us less postage costs and any handling charges. All refunds will be made via the method of payment

 

In the case of a Tailor Made hat, this is a bespoke order and the hat has been specifically created for the individual customer, therefore the hat cannot be returned and is non-refundable.

 

We take every care to ensure that your hat arrives safely. However in the unlikely event it is damaged in transit, please retain the hat and packaging and contact us within 48 hours of receipt. Proof of the return should be obtained by customer. Refunds will be made via the method of payment
